Certified as a specialist in taxation law by the State Bar of California, Lage has practiced tax law with Carr McClellan since 1977. He specializes in federal and California income tax planning relating to business, real estate and financial transactions. For transactions with significant tax consequences, Lage works with the firm's corporate and real estate attorneys to conduct tax analysis and planning. Additionally, he works closely with the firm's Estate Planning, Trusts and Wealth Transfer Group in estate tax minimization strategies such as family limited partnerships and family limited liability companies. Lage’s experience also includes handling tax disputes with the IRS, California Franchise Tax Board and the California Board of Equalization including audits, administrative appeals, litigation, and collection matters.
